Multiple determinations in the micro Dumas nitrogen method

Summary A multiple analysis method for the Dumas nitrogen determination has been described. The furnace is provided with eight combustion tubes arranged in a circle around the axis of the furnace. An improved nozzle-type nitrometer, without ground joints, has been designed. The multiple determinations are simultaneously carried out as in usual method, permitting thirty two analyses in a 7-hour working day. The standard deviation-error of estimate from 88 analyses in routine work is ±0.12% N.

Zusammenfassung Ein Verfahren zur gleichzeitigen Durchführung mehrerer Stickstoffbestimmungen nachDumas wurde beschrieben. Der Verbrennungsofen kann acht Verbrennungsrohre in gleichmäßiger Entfernung von seiner Längsachse aufnehmen. Ein verbessertes Düsenazotometer ohne Schliffverbindungen wurde konstruiert. Die Analysen werden gleichzeitig in der üblichen Art durchgeführt, so daß im 7stündigen Arbeitstag 32 Bestimmungen möglich sind. Die mittlere Abweichung von 88 Analysen im Routinebetrieb betrug ± 0,12% N.

Résumé On a décrit une méthode d'analyse multiple pour le dosage de l'azote selonDumas. Le four est muni de huit tubes á combustion disposés suivant un cercle autour de l'axe du four. On a construit un nitromètre perfectionné de type à étranglement, sans joints rodés. On effectue simultanément les dosages multiples comme dans la méthode habituelle, ce qui permet de réaliser trente deux analyses en une journée de travail de 7 heures. L'écart type calculé à partir de 88 analyses dans un travail en série est de ±0,12% N.

Polyaddition reaction of pseudoxazolones with dimercaptans

Polymers having thioether, thiolester, and amide linkages in each repeating unit of a polymer main chain were prepared by the polyaddition reaction of pseudoxazolones (2-isopropylidene-4-alkyl-3-oxazolin-5-ones) and dimercaptans. The polymers had inherent viscosities in a range of 0.08–0.22 and gave transparent films by solution casting.     

Synthesis and reactivity of β-cyclodextrin-histamine as enzyme model

Cyclodextrin (CD) has a hydrophobic cavity which acts like a binding site of an actual enzyme. But enzymatic turnover reaction did not occur in CD-catalyzed reactions. -CD was modified by a histamine group to attach a reactive functional group. -CD-histamine accelerates the hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl acetate. Catalytic rate constant of this reaction is close to an actual enzyme, -chymotrypsin. Enzymatic turnover reaction is realized with this compound at around neutral pH value.     

Synthesis of polyamideamines from 5-oxazolones

Polyamideamines with a sequence of two amide and one amine linkage in a main chain were synthesized from the polyaddition of 2-isopropylidene-4-alkyl-3-oxazolin-5-ones and primary diamines. The polyaddition reaction proceeded through 1,4-conjugate addition of an amine group to 3-oxazolin-5-one and subsequent ring opening of the intermediate addition product with another amine. Although aliphatic diamines gave oily polymers, xylylenediamines afforded amorphous solid polymers. The reduced viscosities and polymer melt temperature of the polymers were 0.05–0.12 and 90–130°C., respectively.     

Finite-Dimensional Simple Leibniz Pairs and Simple Poisson Modules

Simple modules over the Leibniz pairs are studied. Simple Poisson modules over Poisson algebras of the semisimple associative algebra structure are determined and they are nothing but simple bimodules over simple associative algebras with standard noncommutative Poisson algebra structure.     

Synthesis and reactions of benzopentathiepin having hydroxyl group

The synthesis of benzopentathiepin having a hydroxyl group at the neighboring position of polysulfur ring was performed by demethylation of 6-ethyl-9-methoxybenzopentathiepin with hydrogenbromide. Benzotrithiole having hydroxyl group was not isolated at all. The hydroxyl group was also alkylated with alkyl iodide in the presence of weak base.
